ILLEGAL GAMBLING IN THE FORM OF SATTA/MATKA RACKET
BUSTED BY KACHIGAM POLICE STATION, NANI DAMAN
ARREST OF 11 PERSONS IN ILLEGAL GAMBLING CASE UNDER
GOA, DAMAN & DIU GAMBLING ACT
On February 19, 2025, at approximately 18:30 hrs, a Police team from Kachigam Police
Station, led by SHO Kachigam and team, was conducting routine patrolling near Somnath
Junction, Daman. During the patrol, the team noticed three suspicious individuals who
attempted to flee upon spotting the Police vehicle. The officers pursued and apprehended them
near the backside of Subhashbhai Chawl, Somnath, Nani Daman.
Upon further investigation, the Police discovered a total of 11 individuals engaged in
illegal satta/matka gambling. The operation was being run by one Imran Shah, a resident of
Khariwad, Nani Daman, who is currently absconding.
A Spot Panchnama was conducted, and the following items were seized from the
accused persons:
Mobile Phones: 11 units (various brands)
Gambling-related materials: 10 notebooks, 1 plastic box, 3 calculators, 52 playing cards,
3 trees, 1 banner, 1 desktop, 20 ball pens, 2 trays, 10 charts
Cash Seized: 9,860 in various denominations
The following 11 accused have been arrested:

1. Mangubhai Babu Rathod (46) – Gandevi, Navsari, Gujarat
2. Dilipkumar Ratilal Gauri (58) – Pardi, Valsad, Gujarat
3. Vinodbhai Naginbhai Vagri (38) – Khada Vistar, Bellimore, Navsari, Gujarat
4. Kishore Shantilal Patel (53) – SV Patel Road, Gandevi, Navsari, Gujarat
5. Mohammed Imamuddin Ikram Khan (41) – Vapi, Kolivad, Valsad, Gujarat
6. Sheikh Wazir Islam (40) – Kolivad, Taki Falia, Valsad, Gujarat
7. Vinod Heeru (38) – Rajeshbhai Ki Chaal, Somnath, Daman
8. Pankaj Shantilal Patel (42) – Dungra Falia, Vapi, Gujarat
9. Sharif Yakub Sheikh (58) – Pardi, Valsad, Gujarat
10. Bhupendra Ganpatbhai Kambli (45) – Seemar Falia, Varkund, Nani Daman
11. Haresh Jabar Ali (32) – Somnath, Nani Daman
    A case has been registered under FIR No. 15/2025, U/S 3, 4 & 7 of the Goa, Daman &
    Diu Gambling Act, at Kachigam Police Station, Nani Daman. The case is under further
    investigation.
    Daman District Police remains committed for eradicating illegal activities in the region
    and urges the public to report any suspicious activities.
